The Community and Civil Development Studies Master’s Programme, rooted in the disciplines of social sciences, prepares students to be able to contribute effectively to the work of non-governmental organisations and non-profit organizations as community and civil developers. Students are prepared to actively participate in managing or mitigating problems appearing in communities and to improve the quality of life.

Apart from helping participants’ revise and renew their knowledge in laws, policies and regulations that govern public education and providing training in leadership and management skills, our postgraduate specialisation programme, preparing students for the Educational Specialist Exam in Roma Integration, offers a new elective module on issues of national minority. Upon completing the programme, students will have gained a new perspective – rooted in social sciences – on the issues of the Roma minority, the actual challenges of integration and the tasks educational institutions face in this respect. Students gain knowledge in social sciences, anthropology, ethnography, value transfer and educational policy with respect to the situation of Roma people in Europe, the programmes supporting their integration and the existing good practices.

Upon completing the studies, students will have gained competences in planning socialization processes in the school that form understanding and embracing civic roles, and in applying learner-centred and learning outcome-based methodologies that aim at forming democracy-conform behaviours. They will have become skilled at coordinating the activities of their teaching community, offering consultations, planning school-based development and managing their implementation.

The aim of the 30-hour professional development programme is that the participants become familiar with and then disseminate advanced conflict resolution techniques and procedures and become competent in applying them. The present program aims at introducing methods into the pedagogical practice that can be realised through system-level attitude forming and skill development. As a result, the participants will be able to identify conflicts themselves and participate actively in their resolution.

The aim of the 30-hour professional development programme is to provide theoretical and methodological knowledge for the participants on managing camps for the age group 6-18.
The objective is that the participants become familiar with camping as a form of community building and encounter conflict resolution methods and techniques applicable while camping. The participants are prepared to apply the modern developmental elements of experiential pedagogy through the methodology of Erzsébet Camps in the venues of the Camps.
